Five Specific Article Marketing Money Making Writing Tactics YOU can use Immediately!

Okay, there’s no denying it anymore, if you want to make money online, you need to know how to write… Or, you need to have a talented ghost writer at your side. Of course, when you’re just getting started, you’re probably going to do the majority of the writing yourself.

The question, then, is how do you write well? More specifically, how do you write well for the e-commerce crowd? What is it that your potential customers are looking for? What grabs their interest? What puts their trust in you and your fabulous product?

A lot of it comes down to good writing, honestly. To a certain degree, that’s something that takes practice, but there are five simple things you can put into your writing that should see it improving by leaps and bounds in terms of its value to your online business…

Be Clear

There are a few elements to writing clear, readable text. First, don’t dance around what your product does, just come out and say it. Address the problem, and explain what your product can do to fix it.

Second, watch the twelve dollar words and the long, drawn out sentences. Write in plain English as if you’re describing to a stranger what your company does, because, believe it or not, it’s mostly going to be strangers reading that text.

Use Keywords with Discretion

You definitely want to use keywords to improve your search engine visibility, but you don’t want to just cram your text with every keyword that will fit. Only use relevant keywords. Miley Cyrus might be a hot internet search right now, but if your company isn’t selling Miley Cyrus CDs, don’t try to work a reference in there.

The basic rule of thumb is: A few in the beginning paragraph, a few in the ending paragraph, and one or two in the middle somewhere.

Know your Customers

You should have a general idea of what kind of people are going to be supporting your company. If you’re selling cleaning products, you’re obviously going to be talking, mostly, to stay at home moms and dads. If you’re selling bulk quantities of food, you’re talking to professional chefs and kitchen managers.

What this comes down to is that you have to stay on top of that market, understand their needs, the problems they face, and let them know that your company addresses these problems.

Formatting

Notice all the subheadings in this article? It breaks the text up into nice little readable chunks. It looks better than the “Wall of Text” approach, and it’s more inviting to the reader. If we were to remove all of the subheadings, most of our readers probably wouldn’t have reached this paragraph.

There are a lot of articles on the internet, millions, in fact, all vying for the reader’s attention. Subheadings, a clean, readable font, things like that all say “Don’t worry, we’re not going to waste your time”.

Look at the Bright Side

You never ever want to stretch the truth or make things up about what your product does, what your company is capable of, what your past experience is, etcetera. Rather, think of an article online as something of a resume for your goods or services. Paint yourself in the most positive light, and don’t make any excuses.

Say you have a cleaning product that works wonders on carpets, but doesn’t do a thing for tile and grout. Obviously, you’re going to write an article about how to get the best results for your carpet. You’re not going to say “Cleaning tile and grout can be a real pain in the neck, and unfortunately, we can’t help you.”

A Bonus Tip: Keep on Writing

If you’re going to do your own writing, the most important thing is to keep on writing, and enjoy writing. If you keep at it, you’ll find your own voice and your own way of reaching out to the customer.

The above tips should help you make your writing more marketable, and with a bit of practice, you’ll discover plenty of your own tricks, as well.
